Dr. Sklar grew up in metropolitan Detroit and attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor for his undergraduate degree. He received his medical degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, where he was awarded the Ciba-Geigy Community Service award for his work in teaching Detroit youth and adults about the risks of substance abuse and sexually transmitted infections. He completed his residency at Loyola University in 1996, where he served as Chief Resident and received several resident and teaching awards.
Dr. Sklar provides comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care for women of all ages. He strongly believes in reviewing all management options with his patients and working with them to find the best treatment for each individual patient. He has a special interest in low and high-risk obstetrics, contraception, perimenopausal disorders, minimally invasive surgery and office surgery.
Dr. Sklar served as the Chair or Co-Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital from 2005-2013. He is involved in a number of hospital committees, especially involving quality assurance and patient safety.
Outside of work, Dr. Sklar likes to spend time with his wife and three children in the near western suburbs. He enjoys reading, traveling and playing sports of all kinds.
